TERMS & CONDITIONS
With regret, Girls on Hills has decided to postpone/reschedule a number of upcoming courses due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Participants on impacted courses have been notified by email.
The main reason for this decision is not the risk of virus transmission during running of hillwalking per se, but to reduce the need for clients to travel to and stay in the local area. We have a social responsibility to take what action we can to reduce spread of the virus and to protect our customers, guides and community from non-essential contact at this time. We are also responding to the advice of Scottish Athletics who have advised their coaches against face-to-face events in Scotland.
The Coronavirus outbreak is an unprecedented and constantly changing situation, leading to a great deal of uncertainty for the weeks and months ahead. We anticipate that this situation may be extended to other courses as the full extent of the pandemic becomes clear. We will do our best to keep you updated about the impact this will have on our events and courses.
IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL
If your event has not yet been cancelled but you wish to withdraw in the current situation, you may wish to consider converting your booking into a voucher to spend at a later date, or changing your reservation to a bespoke 1:1 booking with us later in the year. In this instance please email us with your request. If wish to cancel outright, then our normal T&Cs apply. Our Cancellation Policy can be found online here: www.girlsonhills.com/terms-and-conditions
We will notify participants about any cancellations by email. If you are unsure of whether your course has been cancelled, just get in touch. Please be reassured that Girls on Hills is closely monitoring official advice from the UK Government and Scottish Government. We are using this official advice to inform our decisions in relation to our planned events and courses, and will be seeking to make our courses available again as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
Guidance is changing very rapidly and we will of course cancel all Girls on Hills events if required to do so. In this instance, we would be in a very difficult position as a small business and would appreciate your understanding and help in sharing the burden of the situation. We will make clear the options available to you when we contact you by email about course cancellation.
Occasionally our emails go to junk mail folders, so please keep an eye on these, and on our Facebook page. We will be using email as our main method of communication – either from firstname.lastname@example.org or through Eventbrite.
For the safety of others, please avoid non-essential travel and social contact. If you are feeling unwell, please follow NHS advice regarding your symptoms immediately: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19

We hope that once you have made a booking with us you will be able to join us as planned but we understand that sometimes things change and injuries happen. In that case we work to these conditions;
Full payment is taken at the time of booking via online bank transfer.
This payment includes a non‐refundable £10 deposit.
If you cancel your booking more than 6 weeks before your course start date we will refund the full cost of your course minus the £10 deposit. If you cancel between 6 and 2 weeks of your course start date we will refund 50% of the remaining course balance once the deposit is taken. If you cancel less than 2 weeks from the start of your course we are unable to offer any refund.
At any point you may transfer the booking to another suitable person if you cannot attend yourself. Contact us to arrange the transfer. If you make contact with us before your course start date we will endeavour to issue a voucher for the value of your course, less the £10 deposit. This will be valid on any course within 12 months of issue.
We recommend that you arrange your own cancellation insurance.
